How frequently should I groom my dog?
We recommend dogs with longer coats to be groomed every 4-6 weeks to help maintain their skin condition and ensure matting does not occur. A dog’s lifestyle and coat contributes to how frequently they require grooming.
Can I keep my dogs coat longer but stretch out the appointment intervals, to perhaps 6-8 weeks?
You absolutely can, with regular brushing & combing on almost a daily basis and after walks and any high activity/play. Depending on a dogs lifestyle and coat, a lot of maintenance is required.
Where can I buy brushes and combs?
You can purchase brushes and combs from All the Woofs (provided we have stock available), please ask and cut out delivery fees from buying online. We love providing convenience where possible and can bring the brushes & combs to your next appointment.
My dog is matted, what can I do?
It depends on the severity of the matting. At All the Woofs, while we always want to ensure our clients’ Hoomans are heard, your Woofs’ wellbeing is our priority. Matting can be extremely painful to brush out, we would likely asses your dog’s coat and provide you with the best possible solution. Depending on the severity of the matting, a matting fee applies to cover the extra time it takes to groom your dog & cover the cost of equipment maintenance.
How long does the grooming process take?
Most grooms on average, take anywhere from 1-2hours. We never want a dog in the Woof Wagon for longer than 2 hours. Your dog’s temperament and coat condition will give us a good idea of duration. We will give you an estimate of time at the start of your appointment.
Do you come to my home?
Yes we do! The Woof Wagon provides the convenience of coming to you. We park up in your driveway or on-street. With our own power leads and a hose, all we need is access to electricity & your outdoor tap.
How do I get my dog to the Woof Wagon?
We ask that all dogs wear a collar and are leashed; please let us know if you have a retractable leash, as we will use our own leash instead. Most cases we prefer dogs to be walked out to the Woof Wagon with their owners, in some cases, we may feel it’s best we walk your dog out to the Woof Wagon.
Can I stay and watch the groom?
With a few exceptions i.e; service and therapy dogs, where owners may need to stay with their dog; we ask you to trust us and the process and leave your dog with us during the groom, head back home and relax. This provides us the chance to create a connection with your beloved fur babe which makes the grooming experience easier for your dog. It takes along time to settle a dog if owners keep coming out to check. If we have any issues, be sure to know, you will be our first call!
Do I need to provide anything?
No, unless your dog requires specific treats or medicated shampoo. Please let your groomer know prior to your appointment.
What happens at the end of the groom?
We will walk your dog back home to you on leash.
Will I receive a reminder message?
Yes! We send out reminder – confirmation messages at least a week before your appointment, we find it helpful to receive your confirmation.
When is my next appointment?
We can create a grooming schedule for you for up to 2-3 months at a time. We ask you to make future bookings to avoid disappointment and ensure your dog gets a spot. Alternatively, if you prefer to book as you require, we ask you to be patient when contacting us for an appointment as our availability can be limited. Typically calling 3-4 weeks ahead will give you the best chance. On rare occasions we may have a ‘suprise spot’ open up.
What if I need an emergency groom?
Urgent grooms incur a fee, which will be agreed upon before the appointment commences. We cannot guarantee we can always service an emergency groom.
What if you don’t service my area?
On some occasions, where we have availability to stretch beyond our usual locations, an additional fee is applicable. Please call us to discuss.
When can my puppy have its first groom?
Once your puppy is fully vaccinated. We suggest calling ahead of time to make a booking, we believe it super important for your puppy to experience the grooming experience as early as possible. Their first Puppy Groom focuses on de-sensitising your dog to provide the best possible experience; it’s usually a Wash & Tidy.
My dog has fleas, can you help?
Yes! We have flea treatments available, we ask that you inform us prior to the appointment as we need to treat the space accordingly to not spread fleas which will affect our other clients that enter the Woof Wagon. Dogs that require flea treatments, will be booked at the end of a day. Dogs with fleas that enter the Woof Wagon without prior warning to the groomer will incur an additional charge as we will need to reschedule all other clients for the rest of the day; this has a huge impact on the rest of our clients and our business.
